What is a student activity fee?The student activity fee is charged each semester for the purpose of funding the events and activities of student clubs and organizations, the student government association, and campus-wide special events. Do I have to bring a copy of my high school diploma?Yes. Wayne County Community College is an "open door" institution, but students must be high school graduates or have successfully achieved a GED. Students will be asked to present proof of either graduation from high school or the GED.
Do I need to bring college transcripts?Yes. If you have ever attended a college or university other than WCCCD, you must submit official transcripts from any and all institutions. This information will be used by college personnel to determine what will transfer into WCCCD and will be helpful in placing you in courses that require assessment testing or have course prerequisites.
Can someone else register for me?No. It is college policy that all students conduct their own registration. This helps ensure that you are in courses that meet your educational goals and degree requirements and that you are not enrolled in courses that are not your own personal choice.
Why was my registration purged from the system?Your registration will only be purged (deleted) from the system for non-payment of tuition and fees. Payment of tuition and fees and/or arrangements for the payment plan must be conducted on the day that you register for classes. Failure to do so will result in your registration being purged at the end of the day on which you registered.
Why do I have to take an assessment test?To ensure success in college-level courses, the college requires all entering freshman students be assessed for skills in reading, writing, and mathematics.
