What is asbestos?
Asbestos is a group of naturally occuring minerals found in countries such as Australia, Canada, South Africa and some Eastern European countries. The three most common types of asbestos are: Chrysotile (white) Amosite (brown) and Crocidolite(blue). Other type are found but are not common.

Why is it a hazard?
Asbestos is made up of microscopic fibres that may become airborne. Once airborne they can become inhaled into the lungs. Ther is no "safe level" of exposure.

Where does it go onced removed?
Once removed the double bagged asbestos waste is transported to a registered landfill site where it is safely, deeply buried forever. Waste consignments and disposal records are kept by the contractor as proof of correct disposal and are made available for future inspections as and when requested.
